Where is 1KELA based?
1KELA Company Limited is a Tanzanian company working from Ubungo, Dar es Salaam. Most project work is in Tanzania, with engagements across East Africa.
What does a solution-oriented conglomerate actually do?
We take on problems that cross more than one field at once. A single engagement might combine data and AI work, natural-resource technology and workforce training, run by one team instead of three separate vendors.
Which industries does 1KELA work with?
Mining and mineral exploration, telecommunications, government and public institutions, financial services, and companies entering the Tanzanian market. The common thread is a technical problem that also needs someone who understands the ground it sits on.
What are the main service areas?
Nine disciplines in four groups: data and intelligence (analytics, AI and machine learning, software development); resources and infrastructure (mining exploration technology, telecoms and IT); advisory and people (management consulting, training, HR representation); and delivery (project management).
Does 1KELA work with clients outside Tanzania?
Yes. Project experience covers East Africa, and we regularly support foreign investors planning a move into the Tanzanian market.
How does a project start?
With a conversation about the problem, not a fixed package. We scope the work, agree how success will be measured, then run it in Agile or Waterfall depending on what the project needs.
How is 1KELA different from an IT firm or a management consultancy?
A consultancy hands you a report. An IT firm builds to a spec. We do the analysis and build the system that comes out of it, with people who know the local context in mining, telecom and the public sector.
